bodh-gaya-darjeeling?
anyone gone from bodh-gaya to siliguri/darjeeling.?
i am seeking advice. please help |

I don't know what advice you want or what class you want to travel in, but the best timed train appears to be......
Train 2506 departs Patna daily at 22:20 and gets to New Jalpaiguri at 09:15. 2-tier air con = Rs 925 3-tier air con = Rs 604 Sleeper Class = Rs 235 (not air con) (Sleeper class should be avoided on this route) There are no direct trains from Gaya station to New Jalpaiguri (Siliguri), and no daily trains that get you to New Jalpaiguri in time for the himalayan railway.

The other alternative probably would be via Kolkata. From Kolkata there are buses too. Check out apex fare between Kolkata & Bagdogra.

thanks for the info im actually on a new agenda now im just trying to figure out online purchasing of train tickets.has any one taken the bus from bohd-gaya to varanasi ? any comments ? travelling solo

Gaya to Varanasi
Bus travel in Bihar is not recommended. Mughal Sarai is 17 Kms from Varanasi. Train 2397 departs Gaya daily at 14:10 and gets to Mughal Sarai at 17:20 (3A, SL.), this train is a good option as it starts from Gaya) Train 2307 departs Gaya daily at 06:39 and gets to Mughal Sarai at 09:50 (2A, 3A, SL.) Train 2381 departs Gaya (W, Th, Su.) at 16:00 and gets to Varanasi at 19:40. (1A, 2A, 3A, SL.) Another option if your going to Rajgir or Nalanda....... Train 5109 departs Rajgir (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only) at 22:30, Nalanda at 22:42 and gets to Varanasi at 08:10 (then Sarnath at 09:20). This train only has sleeper class. Sleeper Class = Rs 190 (not air con) Train 2391 departs Rajgir daily at 08:10 then Nalanda at 08:26 and gets to Varanasi at 15:05. Fares from Rajgir to Varanasi…… First Class Air Con = Rs 1296 2-tier air con = Rs 692 3-tier air con = Rs 459 Sleeper Class = Rs 183 Bookable 2nd class seat = Rs 109 (not air con) Last edited by steven_ber : Mar 21st, 2006 at 16:54. |

travel in train, preferably in AC, when pasing through bihar!........unless and until u want to explore the colours of bihar!
