Best trip around kolkata
MUKUTMANIPUR.........
Recently two days back , i returned from mukutmanupur....... it was a thrilling experience which reminded me of my andaman trip 4 years back.
DAY1
We left kolkata at 8 am by hired scorpio , reaced bisnupur after 4 hours covering 165 km via tarakeswar , arambag n jaipur forest. We reached our guest house nand had some lunch before leaving for local side tours like rash manch, patra saheb , jor mandir , shyamrai temple , temple of kalachand, chinnamasta temple . Then we did some shopping like wooden horses , etc[ATTACH]

The day ended this way..
DAY 2
we headed straight to mukutmanipur from bisnupur bypassing road to jhilmill we the locals told us not to travel though its a really nice place... It took 3 hrs to reach there.. We had to make pass for our car to enter the dam , ASIAS SECOND LARGEST EARTHEN DAM.. As soon as we entered all scenario changed altogether , it was a nice place with a big water body on one side , total greenery on other side with islands and little mountains all around... After travelling 6 km , we reached to of parasnath hill where people worship lord shiva and vishnu... its also a good view point of the dam...
It was raining and it added to our party... on furthur travel , beautiful unmanned islands came into our view which I determined to visit and I visited..
Believe it was a breath taking moment , how could such a peaceful place exist in vicinity of kolkata! We visited the first island by boat , it charged rs 50...
We proceeded furthur to see the kangsabati river dam side..
Finally we returned to bishnupur before 4 pm after having lunch at peerless resort mukutmanipur.... wbtdc also offers hotels to reside but peerless will be a better option with room rent starting from rs 2500 and buffet at rs 310 and thali at rs 200 only...
DAY 3
We woke up early and went for lalbandh , radha krisna and krishnamohan temple before heading for kolkata.. we came via durgapur express way to avoid misery of arambag road.. it took 5 hrs and near about 260 km altgether......
WE VISITED ON 17 AUGUST AND RETURNED ON 19 AUGUST 2012 , SO WE MISSED THE BLOOMING KASH FLOWER WHICH BLOOMS AROUND OCTOBER NEAR DURGA PUJA....
