Have you looked at the other threads in this sub forum? (Volunteering and charitable....)

Dunno if you will find a direct answer there, but there are some good pointers.

Hi Hanna,

it's better to post more specific information about your education and the field where you want to volunteer (children, environment, healthcare...). This will increase the chances of a feedback from former volunteers.

more options for volunteering possibilities

Here are two suggestions that may help you with ease and much appreciation. Both are located in the north, and for the time you mentioned must be prepared to be in the cooler temp.

www.avani-kumaon.org
/AVANI is a voluntary organization working in the Kumaon region of Uttaranchal, India. The also make natural dyed shawls, hand made rugs and more.

www.guchusum.org
Help Tibetan political prisoners. Located in Daramasala area. They are always looking for volunteers.

Hi Taapsi,

Did you consider Rajasthan - It is a good option if you are looking to volunteer and most likely you may be able to get boarding and food if you contact suitable organizations/NGOs. There are number of worthy organizations in major cities of Rajasthan, who would be willing to offer an opportunity if your skills suit their needs. Let me know about your willingness for Rajasthan-can suggest some names of organization you can contact. thanks mir

Hi Majikmir,

I saw your post about volunteering in Rajasthan as I tried to find places to volunteer in India. I'd love to work with children/women in an education role. I don't mind any of the major Rajasthani cities.

Do you have suggestions for me?

Hi Phi,

You may want to contact Umang in Jaipur. They work with children with multiple disabilities. The website is www.umangjaipur.org. Go to the volunteers section to find contact details. It is a very good organization for the kind of work they do and genuine.

I saw your message just now, so let find some more names and get back to you. I hope this is OK. Oh yes, you can also contact PUCL which stands for People's Union for civil liberties and they do a lot of work with women in Jaipur. contact is
