Volunteer options

Hi all!

I'm looking for some advice as to volunteering options in India starting mid December this year. I have no return ticket and no plans once I'm there and am more than willing to commit to a placement of 6 months +.

I would really be willing to help out wherever is needed, however I would love to utilize my skills if possible (and I don't want to be taking a job which would otherwise be done by a paid local). I'm really interested in social justice and community development and would love to get involved with something along those lines.

I will be completing my Bachelor of Law this year, and I also have a Bachelor of Media/ Communications however my work experience is pretty limited to paralegal work and volunteer work with Refugees in Australia.

If anyone has any advice as to where to look that would be great. Is it easier to organize this type of thing before arriving or should I just knock on some doors once I'm there?
