Hi All,
Im currently in my final year my of LLB-degree in South Africa, graduating at the end of the year (hopefully). I would really like to volunteer/intern/work at an NGO/firm in India in the field interests are human rights and refugee rights. I was thinking of staying in Delhi or Mumbai. Ideally, i would like to come Feb - June 2010. I would really appreciate any feedback from you as to any reputable organisations, advice, contacts etc. Looking forward to hearing from you ![]() |

You can google for Indian NGOs in your fields of interest and then ask around for experiences with them. In that way you'll get a picture of the scene.
If you decide to stay in Mumbai, you should consider that costs of living are very high there, not so great for an unpaid volunteer as long as the NGO doesn't arrange your accommodation! |

Well, Google is def a good idea, but what you can also do is use the services of organization like govolunteerindia.org, crossculturalsolutions.com, realgap, gapguru etc.
