Kullu Manali volunteering
I know of an orphanage up in the Kullu Manali area that has a small number of residents that is looking for a volunteer. Will provide food and lodging and is in a nice environment. There is an elderly Hungarian 'Mother' that keeps it all going at present but is pretty much in need of assistance. A power of energy and she expects much of here helpers.
Some other interesting stuff at the same centre also.
The school where the children attend in Kullu have a position available for someone to teach English, conversational level only. Food and lodging plus a very small remuneration.
I will get some contact details if anyone is interested.

Don't really have many details, just contacts that keep pleading with us for some volunteers.
The hospital where the children live is really interesting, the 'Mother' speaks French best.

Hello,
I am an English Teacher (TESOL Certificate) heading to Manali at the beginning of March. I would love the opportunity to teach in Kullu - if the timing is right for you guys?
Please let me know about the contact details.
Thank you very much,
Melanie.

Hi! That sounds like a really cool opportunity! My boyfriend and I are interested in volunteering in that area mid-June to mid-July. Is there need for two people? I have a year's experience teaching English to elementary school children in Costa Rica and he is going to enter medical school in August. We're both in our late 20s. Unfortunately, neither of us speak French, but I have tons of experience working around language barriers!

At the risk of being deleted as my wife's post was.
Contact me if anyone wants further information.
I have no involvement with this school but do know that funding from Japan has come through so as this has happened then everything is straight up.
The orphanage has closed as there were no funds to keep it going.
