Give2Asia
A friend of mine wrote about this charity in her blog, so I went to their website to check it out...
"Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states in India are struggling with serious flooding. Usually these areas experience flood every year during the monsoon, but this year's flood has cost human lives and widespread damage to property. Given the large number of population to be covered -- over 1.3 million people in the worst affected 1,628 villages and 64,000 in 450 relief camps – communities have an urgent need for programs that can provide dry food and non food items, medicines and medical supplies immediately. In the long run they will need help rebuilding and with economic recovery." Give2Asia It is a San Francisco, California, USA based organization, so am just posting here in case anyone is interested in donating. According to the website they are currently "funding immediate relief efforts for flooding in South Asia, and long-term relief for the Pakistan Earthquake, and the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia and Sri Lanka." |
