Charities = businesses?

Indeed. Have these particular site rules been formalised anywhere? I have looked but can't find them. Perhaps we should have a "Sticky" thread here.

Here's the section you're looking for:

"No solicitation (Permanent ban): Solicitation for commercial or charity-based organizations of any kind, without the written consent of IndiaMike.com, is strictly forbidden. Any solicitation activity through user controlled content including, but not limited to user names, signatures, member profiles, and posts is strictly forbidden. Any violation of this rule will result in a permanent ban with no warnings. Content regarding commercial or charity-based organizations is only allowed if you are posting a legitimate reply to a question and you have no affiliation with the organization. Any violation of this rule will result in a permanent ban with no warnings."
