This adoption agency based in the States works in many countries for International Adoptions, including India. My sis and brother-in-law are adopting from Ethiopia through this org and have been very satisfied with them. You can visit their India page and view children and families who have already come together.

We have a member on IM who is running a street kids haven in India.......

Maybe you'd like to help?

Have a look at her site:-

Chrisandant, are you talking about adoption, as in taking a child to be your own, or about sponsorship?

EDIT: and, just as I post, you have already clarified....

IMer, Shanthi, is in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, right now giving food, shelter and medical care to the homeless street children.

Every cent is put to good use - unlike some charities who have expensive downtown offices and salaries to fund out of your donations!

If you are visiting India you can also visit Shanthi to help in a hands-on way.

You can find out more, and make a donation at www.shanthistreetkids.org
