Varanasi Trip
Varanasi Trip
Hi:
In two days time I am planning to go to Varanasi to visit the Kasi Viswanathar temple. Apart from this temple i dont know any other place in varanasi. This is mainly a spiritual trip. Want to cover all the main temples there. Can anyone tell me what are all the other places i need to visit in varanasi...
Is there any puja on the ganges during night.
Due to time constraint i am planning to stay there for only one day.
Where can i buy some pooja items (Sivalingam to keep in home)
Thanks

Morning aarthi. I lived close to Asi ghat and watched mine there. Get on a boat for a sunrise trip down the ghats. Shivalinga can be bought almost anywhere in Varanasi. Walk up Vishwanath Lane, night times are especially interesting. The main "site" in Varanasi for me IS Varanasi itself, especially down by the river in the morning. Have a Great Stay. Scott

isn't there puja every night down at the main ghat?

I think there is
puja every night at the main ghat.
I realize your time is limited, but ONE day in Varanasi . . . as it's a spritual journey you're on . . . can't you find at least one more day there? Whatever time you do have, Varanasi is an amazing place. My biggest recommendation would be to just sit by the river at dawn . . .
