Varanasi : Ashram/Dharmshala info needed

Hi ,

I'm travelling to Varanasi this weekend. I wish to stay at one of the Ashrams/Dharmshalas there for spiritual experience as well as cheap accomodation. Could anyone give me any kind of information regarding any such Ashram/Dharmshala near Dashashwamedh Ghat/Vishwanath Temple?

Varnasi Visit

Dear
Pl vist indiainforail.com. Where you will get lot of information trains available to all over India. Even where trains are not connected directly from the originating station, you will get information.
Regarding Varnasi:
You stay in Nattu Kottai Chettiar chatram which is very near to "Susil Cinema". On your arrival at Varnasi station, you may engage auto riksha to "Susil Cinema". From there the chatram is just 5 to 7 minutes walk through a small lane. The lane will be very dirty. At the end of the road, one road will be crossing, where you can find a Tea dust seller shop (Not tea Shop).Turn right turn. You will find Nattu Kottai chatram. No sign Board will be available. I have also furnished the Telephone number in this thread. You can book well in advance for the room. The chatram is very near to Viswanath temple.Pl contact Shri Muthiah, Manager, Nattu Kottai Chettiar Chatram at Varnasi in Phone No. (0542)2451804To enter into the Viswanath temple, no other material other than cash is allowed. Even belt, pen, snaks, match box, camera, cell phone are not available. The security will check at the entrance. You will be watched very carefully.
You can perform pooja on your own and not like south india tration, the "Iyyer" or Archagar will do it. After a bath in the Ganga, you can collect Ganga Jal from the river and drop it on the lingam. You can visit local temples like sankatmotcha, Dilbandeswarar (Very important), and lot of temples by engaging local auto driver. Bargain before engaging them. The very near one is [b]SARANATH[/B. Evening Ganga Arthi - another important to be seen.]Stay in Varnasi at least for few days.
Any more information you need?
