tours
Is there a government entity that runs tours or is it all done through your hotel? If so which hotel arranges the best tours? (for a moderate price). I am planning for next week 2 nights/3 days.

Lonely Planet '07 mentions tours ("if time is short") by the UP Tourism Office, Varanasi Junction train station, tel. 0542-2506670, open 06-19:00.

I have seen people taking tours only from religious point of view to take a dip in the holy river. Do you have any place in mind in the tour to cover?
