Spacious Family Accommodation Overlooking Ganges?

Hi,
We're an Australian family of two adults and four chidlren (from 4 to 14) visiting Varanasi for two weeks in March 07. We've heard that a guest house overlooking the Ganges is the ideal place to stay to soak up the wonderful-sounding atmosphere of Varanasi. Does anyone know of a comfortable, spacious house/villa/apartment that might suit us for two weeks? Our 14, 9 and 7 year old sons play mandolin, fiddle, banjo, harmonica, slide guitar and acoustic guitar and we plan to find them daily lessons in sitar and tabla to enjoy. But we don't want to cram into two hotel rooms - we're after somewhere spacious and authentic. Has anyone stayed anywhere that sounds like this? Thank you in advance.
Alan.

Alan - I returned three months ago from a six month stay in Varanasi. While I stayed in a guest house/hostel I do have some contacts there - both in the hotel/apartment field and in the music world. If you want some info, either PM me or keep this thread going. Scott

Hi Scott, Sorry - I just got your message. Wow - six months in Varanasi must've been superb. I'd be very grateful for any info you have on hotels/apartments that might be suitable for six. Do you know the Hotel Ganges View at Assi Ghat?
Our children are vey excited about music lessons - maybe sitar and tabla. We read in the Lonely Planet guide that music lessons are about 100 rupees per hour - does that sound right? We've thought about buying a mohan veena and/or sarod. Our 14 year old plays slide blues and banjo, and Bert, our 9 y.o, plays mandolin and drums. Any tips, advice, ideas, gratefully accepted! Love your 'call sign'. Cheers, Alan.
