Ramlila in Varanasi vs Ramagar Temple

Lonely Planet listed "Ram Lila" in its "Festivals in Uttar Pradesh" (Sep/Oct). We'll be in Varanasi in October (6-8). We would like advice:
  1. Is the festival held during the day or at nght?
  2. Where exactly is it held in Varanasi?
  3. I read somewhere on the web that there could be 10,000 participants for the one at Ramagar Temple. This somewhat scares us, if it is indeed held at night. Should we be concerned?
  4. Which Ramlila to attend: the one in Varanasi itself or Ramagar Temple which is supposed to be 15 km from Varanasi?
Thanks!
