McLeod Ganj to Varanasi
McLeod Ganj to Varanasi
Hi All,
My wife and I are arriving in Delhi on the 7th of July catching the overnight train to pathankot then taxi up to McLeod Ganj for a few days. We were then going to travel to Varanasi by car/jeep and bus and hopefully train. We would really like to visit Manali and Shimla on the way back down toward Varanasi. Could anyone suggest the best combination of travel to Varanasi from Shimla or even Manali?

From Kalka (nearest broadgauge rail station to Shimla) try this
Kalka- Howrah Mail/12312
hope you may know, there is Shimla-Kalka heritage train services too from Shimla
The nearest Railway Stations from Manali are at Chandigarh (310 km.) and Ambala (355 km)......from there you will get lot of trains to Varanashi.........look here:
