Living Masters?

I will be in Varanasi this fall in mid to late November... are there any living masters that are recommended to visit with during my stay? Any recommended ashrams?

Perhaps this thread give you a start: Are there living masters in India now?

why are you interested in "living masters" ?
is it curiosity or you want to achieve some spiritual high ?

if it is curiosity then just go to city on your travel plan, ask the hotel owner which master is present in the city and is available to meet visitors.

if you want to do something for spiritual reason then I would request you to rethink. there are great religions and great men like Buddha, Christ etc. , following the teaching of these religions and men is enough to have a good life. if you always tell the truth, love and help others, have humor and laughs in daily activities then perhaps you don't need any "living master" .

I am not against these "living masters" , and I have no problem with the people who respect them. I am just saying there are plenty of reasons to travel India but these "living masters" should not be a reason.
