I've had the same problem!

Are you emailing Mahavir at hotelalka@hotmail.com?

here is what i found about booking hotels in india.

1. they often have a website and email, probably set up by an IT savvy friend or relative at some point, that they don't check regularly. some do check and respond though. only one way to find out

2. if you want to book ahead, which is not normally essential unless you have your heart set on a given hotel, buy a SIM card once you're over there and ring ahead with your mobile/cell phone.

If you do get hotel Alka, make sure you get there on time, even if you're an hour late, they'll give the room away. That's what happened to me this year and I had to get a hotel room in Karol Bagh.

Hi there, I also thinking of booking Hotel Alka they tell me airport pickup is from the "the exit gate of Airport".
How big is the airport?
Would it be far to walk from the terminal to the exit gate? sounds messy.
My thinking is they want to avoid paying charges entering the airport. They are requesting 500Rs for this.

The Airport is tiny, it will be very obvious where they are

have fun in varanasi, it is an incredibly intense and mad place
