Hotel Hindusthan ok ?
It will be my first time to India and consider to stay at the Hindusthan Hotel as this was adviced by a local agency.
Anyone has experienced this place ? Is it ok in terms of location and overall quality/50 Euros a night ? Any other recommondation in this price range welcome of course. All input appreciated.

Hindustan international Varanasi
I stayed there four years ago, it was a perfectly acceptable hotel for the price, but a tad expensive. Don't drink the water they provide in the room, the hotel looked like the sort of place that provided mineral or reverse osmosis water, but I think I was badly mistaken.
If you want to stay near the station and away from the Ghats I would choose the cheaper and less bland Surya Hotel where you would swap a magnificent atrium for a lawn and better eating, both in ambiance and quality. The beer is also cheaper. Surya's rooms are less 'appointed' but significantly better value. There is an additional bonus of a supermarket within walking distance. Incidentally. the woman recruiting for the massage is really charming but take a tip for the masseuse if you are female, she and her child will benefit as the money for the head massage would help pay the school fees. |
