Every day?
Forgive my naivite -- I'm just beginning to look into a possible India trip around Christmastime -- but do people actually go into the Ganges every single day of the year? Even when it's cold outside (as I assume it will be in December & January)?
I was just wondering what we might expect to see in Varanasi at this time of year... Thanks! |

I have been to the Varanasi ghats in summer and winter. Most recently this January. There are definitely fewer bathers on cold mornings! Perhaps the cold brings weeds out the less devout.
