December, Varanasi

I'll be back home in Varanasi for a spell in December, in the week leading up to Christmas. Meeting family, dogs, friends and old familiar places is fun, but I also enjoy bumping into people visiting from around the world.

Anyone there for a bit 18-25 Dec, who would like to share experiences of the city, PM. But this isn't really a social networking post. It's to say that I'd be happy to answer questions any future visitor has, since things are a bit dead in the Varanasi section. And to mention that winter is a great time to visit, even though most people head over to Goa etc around Dec.

I have to hop out of this thread, unfortunately, because I landed a fellowship for this (www.jalbhagirathi.org/scholarprogram), and will now be in the Thar desert till 20 December, before hopping back to South India via Delhi.

Sorry I'm missing you!
