Hi everyone,

I'm heading to India in 2 days for 3 weeks and was wondering if someone could help me.

How much is the boat trip on the gange in Varanasi ? how long is such a trip usually ? does anyone have some tips regarding the trip ? things not to be missed ....

thank you very much

i think I payed 50 Rs for one hour , and a 50 Rs for tip
it may be an indian price but iwas with a westerner.it was the 1st of Jan 2005
try to negotiate with them, and let them come to you rather than approaching them for prices

it's around 35-50 Rs per hour from the burning ghat. Just go directly to the water and hire the boat, don't deal with comisson-men that come to your guesthouse because it's more expensive with them. Have fun!

Beware of the BABA SILK COMPANY

a liitle late but - no more than 50rps.

If you have some time get to know a local that is not a commision man. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours puddling up and down the gunga for the real price of the hire - 20rps but this was a friend.
