Chandigarh to Varanasi

Hello,
I will be flying into Chandigarh in 2 weeks with high hopes of catching a train to to Varanasi. I have tried to buy the tickets from Goa but I am told there is a waiting list....

Does anyone know of a bus, AC sleeper that goes from the airport in Chandigarh or nearby to Varanasi?

Or perhaps you have a even better suggestion???

There are lots of buses from chandigarh to delhi(including AC Volvo). delhi to varanasi(and mughalsarai - a major junction station near varanasi) has loads of conveniently timed trains everyday.

I wanted to avoid Delhi and that's why I choose to fly to Chandigarh.... I was told it was a nice train ride to to Varanasi...

chandigarh to varanasi is too far for a bus ride. I dont think there would be a direct bus on this route.

Take a one hour bus ride to Ambala from Chandigaeh. From there you have option of 5 Daily trains to Varanasi.

Ambala Railway Station is just opposite the Bus Station, so no hassles..
