Backpackers' Hostel in/near Assi Ghat?

Hi there-have a group of 10 students to accommodate for a week in the Assi Ghat area and their previous hostel just fell through....

I'm wracking my brain to remember some of the names of the other GH's in the area, but am coming up blank... Anyone out there have any ideas? Would like to keep the cost to less than 500INR/double.

From an ex-City-of-Roses resident to another, Check out the Hotel Temple on Ganges, I believe they have a website where you can book rooms. It's just south of Asi Ghat. The Hotel's Haifa and Divvya are just a few minutes walk from Asi, though they may be a little more than you are willing to pay. I stayed for six months in '06 at the Tiwari Lodge, right across from the Haifa. GREAT owners, very helpful; they may fall into your price range, though are often booked if you are there "in season". Though I haven't seen rooms, I've heard good things about the Sahi River Lodge, right on the walkway to Asi Ghat.

Very appreciative of all the ideas, Darmabum!
It's been a year and a half since I was last there, and could not remember the names of many of the GH's there... and of course most don't have websites, so I was stymied a bit.

I'll look into these options for now-thanks again!
