Any Banaras History experts here?

I am currently writing a paper on influence of the british on the banaras royal house pre 1857. I have found a few great articles (one by Bernard Cohn) detailing some of the treaties that were signed, the power shifts and changes in rule that took place between 1798 and 1857, but I have struggled to find much detailing revolts that took place during this time. I read of one, concerning a protest that closed all shops in banaras upon the arrival of a british officer, but that is about as far as I have found. Anyone here have any experience studying the political structure seen during this period? Thanks!

hi walter i would love to, but unfortunately i am in india now and dont have access to the computer i wrote the paper on. if i can get someone to email it to me i will let you know. otherwise let me know if you have any questions. here is one tip, check out the work of bernard cohn, he does an excellent job discussing the actions of british that led to much of the animosity that took place pre 1857. also check the writings of any british officer stationed in the area at the time. a simple google search will direct you in a good direction. one important factor to discussing hte mutiny in banaras during this time, is the actions of the sikh 47th regiment, very interesting stuff about how they reacted to the uprising.
