Angry Where to run away ?

Its going to be a very vague post, I am totally at lost on where I want to go, I just know what I want, so please bear with me.

I am planning a 7days ( its open ended actually, depends on how I am feeling and how much cash is left in the wallet ) solo trip.

Its going to be a leisure trip, want to escape from the fast life of Delhi, work, family(I am not married yet ) and friends.

I don't want to travel too much, and don't want screaming tourists all around, but would like to see some happy faces when I am bored with myself.

Things I imagine when I think about this trip are, Himalayas(a must), River, Waterfall/s, Green Mountains(no dull dusty ones), Rain maybe, Jungle walk, Birds, Local people ( that do not look like migrants from Delhi or Dehradun hopefully :/ ), Snow ?, Slow paced life, just want to sit there and stare at the beautiful nature around me.
Don't mind making new friends in the way.

Dates are not fixed, but want start in the third week of September.

And budget is a back packer's budget. I Don't mind hoping on a sleeper coach of a train(sitting for more then 3-4 hours will be tough) or state owned buses, and budget hotels, don't mind eating out on a Dhaba across the road, don't need any luxury, I can carry my backpack.

Now the question is simple, where should I go ?

7 valuable days in hand, solo, back packer, free to eat anywhere......I am finding myself 20 years back.

Try Chopta and Deoria Tal in Uttarakhand. Hills are extremely beautiful now among rains. You can also try Munsiyari, Nainital (you can see faces when bored), Almora.

Another destination can be janjehli valley in Mandi district in Himachal.

Chopta and Munsiyari looks good( based on the photographs searched on google ) so, will I find River and/or Waterfall/s at one of these places ?

Will I be able to do both these places ?
How to reach ?
Any chances of land slide(considering its still raining there) ?
Where should I go first so I don't waste much time traveling from Delhi ?
Are there budget hotels available at these places ?
Is any of these place close to snow ?
What kind of a budget we are looking at if I want to do both places for around 7-9days ? Just gimme a ballpark figure.

Chopta is in Garhwal area and Munisyari in Kumaon region. It would be better to explore one region only. By saying Munisyari, I meant to include other spots nearly. So, it should be either of Garhwal and Kumaon. Lots of thread present here can guide you about hotels, budget etc.

Mid of August, I did exactly what you are planning to do now. I had a few days with me, just packed my backpack and left for the hills by myself. I went to Deoria Tal, Chopta, Tunganath and already planning to go back soon.

I took a late night bus from Anand Vihar ISBT for Haridwar. The moment I reached Haridwar around 5.30 AM, I hopped onto another bus heading towards Joshimath. I got off around noon at Rudraprayag and from thereon, I had a to change 3 shared taxis to reach a village called Mastura. I couldn't find any taxi to take me to a village further uphill called Sari from where the hike upto Deoria Tal is about 2.5 kms. If you start hiking from Mastura, the total distance to reach the lake comes to about 4.4.5 kms. I was carrying my own tent and sleeping bag and mat. You can get them on rent from Rishikesh or GMVN Ukhimath.

From Deoria Tal, you can go to Chopta and further on to Tunganath and chandrashila Peak. These places can easily be covered in 4-5 days and has all the elements you are looking for - Lake, Waterfalls, Lush green mountains, View of snow capped peaks, only handful of tourists, peace and tranquility!

Since I have my own gear, I did the entire trip in 5 days and spent Rs.3200 all inclusive.

That's pretty cool, and seems like it got everything I want, I might do the same but would spend more days there , let me go through other post on Chopta and nearby places and I will get back to you with some questions, right now I have so many of them that I don't even know where to start. Let me narrow down to few and get back to you, is that cool ?
Thanks.
