Visiting Deoriatal in January
Hi
I was planning to visit deoriatal in and around 25th-26th January. Is it possible to visit the place during that time? I checked a number of threads related to the route, but most of them advice to go there during May-June or Oct. Some are for December. However, I was planning to go there in a short span of 3-4 days during 23-26th January 2010. what are the staying option available? Please provide any pointers around the same. One more question is, how far is Ukhimath from Syalsaur? I was planning to give a break there before reaching ukhimath. Indranil Last edited by indranilatcal : Oct 12th, 2009 at 14:46. Reason: One more question. |

Hi Indra, Welcome to IndiaMike!
Being my namesake, you may want to take a look at this post, which refers to a guide around Deoriatal: Overnight stay at tents in deoriatal And also have a look at the SIMILAR THREADS section at the bottom of this thread page. I'm sure that U'khand experts will reply you soon!

Well, both of you will face some serious identity crisis on IM
![]() I am also going to Deoriatal in Dec end. If there is no snow, there is no problem in going there. Last year, I know quite a few people who visited in Dec end. A couple of year back another IM-er traveled in February - no problems. So you can plan, but keeping in mind that alterations to your schedule might be possible, depending on the weather god ![]()

We could start early the next day. If you reach Deoria taal ( a good 1.5 hrs trek from Saari) by about 10 am, you can see the majestic Chaukhamba in all its glory reflecting on to the pristine lake. If you reach an hour later, that view( the reflection view) is spoilt, in my opinion. I visited DT last year in December end. There wasn't much snow, to speak of.
