Valley of flowers
Valley of flowers
I intend to visit valley of flowers. Please guide me with a suitable itenerary and the perfect time to visit.
Hi Abanti,
When I last counted, there were references to VOF in atleast nine thread in first two pages of the Uttarakhand forum.
I would suggest you to go through them and come up with a rough itinerary so that other IMers can fine tune it

Thank you so much guys for responding. will surely go through the earlier posts on the related topics.
If you still need them... Here's what I did...
Day 1
Reached Haridwar on a train in the afternoon and moved to Rishikesh on an auto rickshaw immediately... spent the night there...
Day 2
Reached Rudraprayag on a shared car... spend the rest of the day exploring that place...
Day 3
Planned to reach Joshimath but due to landslide or something the bus got stuck and had to spend one extra night at Chamoli...
Day 4
Took a bus to Joshimath where I spend some time and then moved to Govindghat and it was too late to trek to Ghangaria... so had to spent a night there...

Day 5
Started the real trek to Ghangaria... reached it by afternoon, explored the nearby areas...
Day 6
Finally reached VOF & spent the entire day there... Came back to Ghangaria in the evening...
Day 7
Back to Joshimath
Day 8
Early morning bus and back to Haridwar...
You can save a couple of days if you travel directly from Haridwar or Rishikesh to Joshimath in the first day itself and if roads are clear...
Hope that helps...
