,

I am planning to visit Nainital, Munsiyari, Chaukori, Kasauni during Christmas. I will be accompanied with a 2 year old and a senior citizen. So want to get a know how about the weather condition. I have learnt that the weather will be chilling cold during those days. But still have some queries lingering around in my mind.
  1. Want to know the weather details during those days. Is the weather or say sky clear for photography during those times? What are the chances of viewing of Panchachuli Peaks during those days?
  2. Does snowfall happen in these areas during Christmas? What are the chances of road blockage if snowfall happens at December end?
  3. Which time is the best to travel in these areas from the month of October to December, in terms of photography?

Thanks in advance.

All your queries have no definitive answer as you must be aware. Two things that can be said though is that first, apart from Munsiyari, no other place sees road blockade due snow, (which too is cleared soon), and second, if it has rained followed by clear weather, you will get excellent views.

If you are going towards Munsiyari and it is raining heavily on the way, change the plans to be on a safe side.
If you find my posts confrontationist, please bear, I am an old frustrated guy who has nothing better to do than sit on rocking chair and curse the world whole day

It's very much true. Each season has its own beauty in terms of photography.

But I meant to say, which is the best time to travel from the month of October to December for clear viewing of Panchachuli Peaks?

Thanks in advance.

As jituji said there is no definitive answer to that. It could be possible that while you are there it would be clouded and after you leave it would be clear. Cloud / weather conditions in the hills are very unpredictable.

No difference between October-December, it can be either way. The only positive for December is that there are chances of good snowfall, but that is a big if. If you really want a good time for photography of snow peaks, then go in March.
