Uttaranchal trip
Hi guys,
We are a student group of 25 from Kerala. We have booked our tickets for Delhi and Haridwar and will reach Haridwar on 27th June. Our resources are quite low and are on a tight budget. We also have to reach back Delhi on 4th July. Our wish was to visit haridwar, Rishikesh, kedarnath, Badrinath, Valley of flowers, Nainital and go back to Delhi. Many previous threads convinced us that it is not at all practical. And v dont want to rush between places too. Please do help us in planning a good initiary covering atleast Kedarnath, Badrinath, Valley of flower and Nainital.
Our budget forces us to rely totally on local trasport. Please advice us on it and also on accommodation.

P Kanti i think they can do rishikesh + badrinath + nainitaal together.
Shilet - your programme is very tight (and being 25 of you, swiftness may not be possible during travel), but to help you with some details - Haridwar-Badrinath-Nanital-Delhi will take 4 full days of travel. If you start 27th early morning and reach Delhi 4th July late evening, then you have 4 days to sight see, which is enough for VOF and Hemkund Sahib. But you guys will be very tired as always on the move.
On the other hand if 27th means after noon and 4th July means before noon, then you practically get 2-3 days, when it is far better to drop Badrinath and do more in Nanital side.
Remember - too much travelling in hills requires time to settle down before you can enjoy. I am sure someone out of 25 people will definitely get sick if you follow your proposed itinerary.

Thanks @PKanti.

Your first post says, you will reach on 27th. Unfortunately, 6 days for this itinerary is INSUFFICIENT.
A thumb rule I tell people is take 12 hours per day as available and count Kerala to Kerala travelling hours / total available hours. This figure should be max 1/3rd (for me) but can be a bit higher if you guys love being on the road constantly - but never to exceed 50%.
In your case the available hours are 96 and you are virtually travelling 60% of the available hours - in hills this is killing. Change your plan and move around Nanital area - see thread on Kumaon.
