Uttarakhand bus time table

You should have tried out the railway network. That would've been far more comfortable I guess. Anyway......

1. It was an AC bus (private bus service) starting from Anand Vihar. I paid INR 400 for the Anand Vihar-Rishikesh stretch and the bus dropped me a little before Rishikesh (at Nepali Farm). The fare upto Dehradun is INR 500.
2. Although I booked my seats in advance a few days prior to the journey, people generally book their seats on the day of the journey itself by arriving at Anand Vihar a few hours early.
3. These are buses operated by a private agency named NON STOP TRAVELS Opp. Anand Vihar ISBT Kaushambi (near Mandir, near Pacific Mall). Contact numbers 09911021202 and 08439558286. The place where the buses originate from is very near the Kaushambi multi-storey flats and not from within the ISBT Bus Terminus itself.There are a number of buses from morning till 1 - 1.30 in the afternoon, both AC and Non-AC. The first AC bus leaves at around 8.30 am I guess.
4. The government buses originate from within the Anand Vihar ISBT Complex. AFAIK, the first government bus is a Volvo that starts from within the Anand Vihar ISBT Complex at around 11 am. Tickets cannot be booked in advance on this bus, as probably it misses its trips quite often and the process of refunding the passengers and arranging for some alternate would be cumbersome for the booking guys. Am told that booking on this bus commences about half-an-hour before the time of its departure. Besides, this volvo goes up to Haridwar/Rishikesh only I guess, and you'll have to change from there for Dehradun.
5. Ordinary roadways buses for Dehradun run throughout the day. Additionally, you could get more Deluxe and AC buses too.

Appreciate the detailed response. I telephoned Non Stop Travels and the person said that they no longer run buses to Dehradun...seems they just ran them during the peak season.

Nevertheless..I should be able to get a bus from the ISBT.

Does anyone have any info about buses from Rishikesh or Haridwar or Dehra Dun to Manali. Cant find any way to book tickets online for this route...

There's an ordinary bus from Dehradun to Manali. You cannot book it online, just show up at the bus station. It runs overnight though and is a killer of a ride.

Do they still operate Hi-Tech/Volvo between Nanital- Delhi or Haldwani- Delhi.
Hope UPTC deluxe bus service is unlike unreliable service of private operators.
There must be some night bus on this route.

Volvo is to Haldwani only. Hi-tech is to Nainital.

Thanks Dilliwala, Hi-tech must be good buses, hope they are as comfortable in sitting as Volvo during night travel.

Hi-tech is the same as regular A/c Deluxe bus (Ashok Leyland), without the a/c.

Do they book buses also at their Gmvn office in Indraprakash Building (Barakhamba road/kasturba marg) like Hptdc does, Hotel and buses, under same roof in chanderlok building. Yesterday nobody was picking the UTC Anand Vihar number 011-22141611, for whole day.

GMVN has nothing to do with UTC, other than being owned by the same state govt.

I am searching for the most pocket-friendly way to get from rishikesh to rudraprayag some day in the first week of nov.
probably around 7 am...any suggestions ?

If you budget is around Rs. 200-250 then a shared jeep from Natraj Chowk, Rishikesh would be the most suitable.

Or, else you can always catch a bus. I guess few private ones leave early morning from the new Rishikesh bus-stand. Please confirm.

I have no issues travelling in a jeep but the thing is, i will be reaching haridwar at 5:50 by the mussorie exp and rishikesh by 7 so will i get jeeps for rp at that time..?

This could be a bit tricky because the jeep will move only once it is full so a 7 am start can not be guaranteed.

If I were you, I would have taken a hitec AC coach to Rishikesh from Anand Vihar bus station. I hope the Rishikesh/Haridwar bus stand has not been relocated to Kashmiri Gate.

The bus starts at 8:30 PM and reaches Rishikesh at around 4:30/5:00 am.
