Your route should be something like this.
  1. Kolkata -> Kathgodam by train (you can go via Delhi or Lucknow or take a direct train. Or take a train to Beiraly and hire a car from there to Nainital. This will get you to Nainital in the shortest time.)
  2. Kathgodam --> Nainital
  3. Nainital --> Kausani
  4. Kausani ---> Chakouri
  5. Chakouri ----> Munsiyari
  6. Munsiyari -----> Pithorgarh / Binsar. Here you have two options. Either you can come back by traversing a similar route used to reach Munsiyari. Or take the route via Pithorgarh. Or do a whole day journey and reach Kathgodam the same day.
  7. Pithorgarh / Binsar ----> Kathgodam
  8. Kathgodam ----> Kolkata
How many days you stay at each place would depend on your preference and liking.

Cut out Munsiyari, and you'll have a fabulous holiday, with the rest.
Otherwise, it may be a bit hectic.

No no no... do not cut out Munsiyari.. This should actually be the highlight of your trip, trust me..!! The views from Munsiyari are the best from all these places...

Although you'll be starting from Kolkata, and that means adding about 3 days for Kolkata-Kathgodam-Kolkata... you'll still have approx 7-8 days for the Kathgodam to Kathgodam journey which will not be hectic...

We did Delhi-Kausani-Chaukori-Munsiyari-Binsar-Nainital-Delhi in 3.5 days, though it was more of a road trip but was very managble... So if you have 7 days you can easily cover the places you have listed (if that is the aim)...

Otherwise if the aim is to have a relaxing trip, then I would suggest cut out Nainital...

Kausani, Chaukori & Munisyari are just about 90 km from each other... Very doable in 7 days.!!

Refer to this post/thread by me on a similar topic:
Almora or Kausani

Let me know if you have any questions...

Agree. How can you miss the sunset from Munsiyari? I did the following trip last year: 1d Binsar - 1d Chakouri - 2d Munsiyari - 2d Kausani. Very much doable at a relaxed pace.

Dear Friends,

Can anybody suggest me that sould I stay at KMVN's Guest House in all these places? or there is a good option.

Also please provide some information about Electricity/Fire Place/Room Heater facility at KMVN's Guest House in these places as my 3 year old daughter will be with me.

Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

Chakouri & Munsiyari - KMVN. They will provide room heater during winter.
Kausani - You have a lot of options. KMVN is in a very nice location, but around 1 Km from the market area. You can think of other hotels also.
