Trip to Badrinath Kedarnath

Hi Everyone
I am planning to go Badrinath, Kedarnath.
We are three adults and one infant.
My questions are basically for transport and hotels

-- What is the best mode of transport from Rishikesh with a one year child.
Bus, Shared taxi or private cab.
Also looking for the fare of the same.

Budget hotels.

I want to cover badrinath, valley of flower and areas around , Kedarnath and areas of around.

I have 8 days starting from 29th june 2012 evening from noida.

If you guys could suggest me the best budgeted itinary for this along with latest fare if possible that would be a great help.

Well i have prepared a rough itinerary, need you guys to help me in finalizing that.
29th June evening: Take bus from Delhi to Haridwar.
30th June: Haridwar and RIshikesh local sightseeing stay overnight in RIshikesh, get a cab from RIshikesh
1st July: proceed to Gaurikund, reach there by evening stay overnight there.
2nd July: start early for Kedarnath, reach by afternoon stay overnight.
3rd July: darshan in the morning after that I am not sure should i stay in Kedarnath and go for places around like glaciers or come back to Gaurikund for onwards journey. Please suggest
4th July: Get back to Gauri Kund and proceed to chopta. Here again I want to stay overnight in chopta, i am planning to go to Tungnath. Please suggest should i go to Tunghnath same day or next.
5Th July> Proceed do Badrinath. Reach there in the evening. Stay overnight there.
6th July: Darshan in the morning and proceed to places around like bhimpul, mana gaon etc back to Badrinath/Joshimath (I am not sure where?).
7th July: Proceed to RIshikesh, if reach by evening try to get a bus to Delhi.

Welcome to the suggestion to improve this itinary.
I want advise with the places in between the journey for example i have heard of panch pryag and similarly panch kedar, so sugeest me with their location and feasibility.
As of now i have booked my hotels in Gaurikund and at kedarnath using GVNL.
I am thinking of hiring an indica as we are three adult and one child from Rishikesh.
The Shubhyatra travels is asking for 2000 per K Plus taxes etc for minimum five days.
Whereas One mr Bhatia (I got the number from some thread in IndiaMIke only)has offered for 1800 per day and suggested that rates may go down by that time and asked me to reconfirm by 25th june..
If some body has another links for hiring taxi please share the links phone number.
Also looking help for hotels in Chopta and badrinath, please suggest with that also.

while you are hiring car for entire trip, better to stay at Sitapur.......Gaurikund just a suffocated place .........if already booked, dont wory stay Gaurikund

you may try Chorabari Tal

next day........try to catch sunrise from Chandrasila (1km from Tungnath).......you may also stay night at Tngnath

proceed to Joshimath afternoon (catch the last gate to joshimath).......next day you may visit Auli or/and it will help you to reach RIshikesh early

Please suggest must go places, i have one day buffer and if required can extend one day more.
Also please suggest with the cab, as I read somewhere in IM that the local taxies are cheaper (if any idea about the current fares ), Is it advisable with a kid of one year.
also i have booking in gaurikund and kedarnath what about other places like chopta, badrinath and joshimath.

stay one night at Siyalsaur/Chandrapuri in between Rishikesh-Gaurikund..........there are very limited hotel at Chopta........here you will get some information........there are lots of hotels/dharmashala in Badri and Joshimath.......if you want to pre-book opt for GMVN there........they are on good location

NB: I'd like to suggest hire car on spot, it'll cheaper

Well i am too excited now starting my journey on 29th june.
Last thing wanted to confirm,after gone through various threads i decided not to hire fullcab, instead i will take bus for haridwar to gaurikund and from badrinath/joshimath to rishikesh/haridwar.Whereas i am planning to take full cab in between. Please suggest if its right thing to do.

its tough to find taxi at Gaurikund ........better to come down Guptkashi and hire car from there

One more thing , before going to badrinath i want to visit CHopta- Tungnath and stay one night there as well.
If you could help me plan this.
From Gaurikund To chopta how to reach (private/share taxi available?).
From chopta to badrinath, what options are available like bus or share/private taxis and how to get those timing etc.

Also if i travel by share taxi or bus, do they stops at in between the journey for example at various prayags (I have found lots of like deoprayag sonprayag etc.).

If i want to cover those as well what would be the best option.
