This is getting interesting.
So 25-30K only for hotel for total of 13 days? or it is your perday budget?

Jyoti-da: what commission should we charge? we can use it to fund our IM meetups.

KMVN & GMVN facilities are not that good ... they charge much more than what they deserve, in kumaon private hotels/resorts are much better.

Below is the package costs for mid/high-end hotels in the places, for your estimate/planning -

Nainital - 2Night Packages on MAP (incl b/fast & dinner)
HOTEL HIMALAYA ........Rs 5200 ( Deluxe, Lake Facing ) Per Couple
HOTEL ELPHINSTON From 1st April to 4th July 2006.................Rs 4999 (Classic), Rs 5999( Premium) Per Couple
HOTEL NEW PAVILION From 11th May to 5th July 2006........Rs 4999 (Standard), Rs 6500 ( Deluxe ) Per Couple, Rs 8000(Cottage) Per Family 2+2
CHEVRON'S FAIRHAVENS From 1st April to 10th July 2006.................Rs 5555 + 6.75% Taxes (Double), Rs 6333 + 6.75% Taxes(Lake Facing) Per Couple

Ranikhet - 2NIghts MAP
CHEVRON'S ROSEMOUNT From 1st April to 10th July 2006.................Rs 5555 + 6.75% Taxes (Double), Rs 6333 + 6.75% Taxes(Pine View) Per Couple
PARWATI INN From 1st April to 4th July 2006............... .Rs 4555 (Dlx, Himalayan Facing)

Kausani 2Nights MAP
CHEVRON'S MOUNTAIN VILLA, KAUSANI From 1st April to 10th July 2006.................Rs 5555 + 6.75 % Taxes (Double) Per Couple

Almora 2Nights MAP
KASAAR JUNGLE RESORT From 1st April to 4th July 2005..........Rs 6666 (Classic) Per couple Rs 9999 (Family Suite) Per family (2+2)

Rates after 5th July will be much lesser like 4000/- for any Chevron Hotel in place of 5555/- (approx)

For Binsar you can even stay at Almora and do an excursion to Binsar (28km from Almora)

Can u give me some details about the KMVN accomadation facilities ie type of rooms, services etc
I have not stayed at any of the KMVN accomodation. So I can't comment on them. However since you will be travelling offseason you can check the accomodation once you in the place & then only check in the hotel. This will take some of your time but at lreat you will be assures of what you will be getting. There are lots of pvt. options at Nainital for accomodation in all types of budget say starting from Rs. 300 - 400 (With attached bath) to Rs. 3000.

Regarding Rains in the hills has their own plus points. But just hope that it does not rain very heavily.

We (Me & Wife) had gone on our rip to Uttaranchal during Feb 05 for 20 days taking this route Mumbai - Delhi - Nainital - Corbett - Binsar - Pithorgarh - Munsyari - Chaukori - Kausani - Auli - Rishikesh & Haridwar - Delhi - Mumbai. Although it was not our honeymoon you may call it out 2nd honeymoon. My total spent was Rs. 40000 = 00 for the whole trip (Includes Pvt. Vehicle from Nainital to Joshimath (Auli) drop for 10 -11 days, All adventure activities, Mumbai - Delhi - Mumbai Rajdhani, Medium Accomodation but with attached bath at all places, All food. etc.,)

Hope the above information helps. Do let me know if you want more info.

Ronak.

Plan Looks good. Budget is good enough. Also you will get better bargain rates for accomodation.

While visiting Kausani, if you pass through Chaukori do visit Patal Bhuvaneswar.
