Hi

You can but but I think it would be too adventurous. It better to avoid places like these which are remote.

Sorry for discouraging you.

Gomukh is a little tough trek, introduce the kid to some lighter day treks first and then start taking him on bigger treks.

Your intention of inculcating a spirit of adventure in your son is laudable, but it's advisable to buildup things slowly........

Hi

If you take a porter who will be carrying your son then your son will not feel exhausted but that is only one part of the problem. What I am worried of is the temperature and the ambience(at Bhujbasa and other places after Gangotri) which might affect your child adversely. However if you are going in a group and your son will have company post trekking then you might venture into this tour.
However I would still request you to consider other safer options. I am myself a Trek enthusiast and have done several treks, but I have been advised by several experts not to venture into this kind of adventure outings till my daughter is 10 yrs old.

Regards

Soura

Yes...I also agree with Soura Brata. Why dont to take you son to milder treks like Hilley-Varsey (4 km) in SIkkim...that is low is altitude and an easy one..and you can check his endurance.....it would be enough for a 5 year old...expose him to Gomukh or something like it later on as he grows up.
