Nainital tour for honeymoon
Hi All,
This is Shekhar, from Kanpur, have planned to visit Nainital during our honeymoon days. As par my schedule, I will start my journey form Lucknow via Nainital Express and will reach at Lalkuan(last stop) by 6:30 morning on 24th November.
From Lalkuan, would it be easier to get transport, if one is planning to go there by private taxi.Else, do i need to come firstly to kathgodam and there from, i should avial any private taxi/cab. What would be the approximate fair from both locations to the Nainital??....please help me out
Can u guys suggest me as how to explore the Nainital and surrounding locations in 4 days since i will depart from kathgodam on 28th Nov. at 7:10 PM via Bagh express back to Lucknow.
Moreover, is it good enough to book hotels there in advance or on-spot booking would be a better idea as i am visting there on off season.
Also, I have recieved mixed comments (mostly, bad ones)even, for some reputed hotels, i am wondering to book it well in advance. Can u guys help me out to find the hotels as par my budget of 1500-2500 bucks/day.
Thanks in advance

Going to Haldwani/Kathgodam is better. From there you can have a taxi to Nainital for Rs. 50 per seat.
For visiting places around Nainital, hire the car or you may book tikets on private tour buses also.

Hare Krishna..Agnish,
You'll get very nice hotels on-spot under 2000 bucks....

One good hotel is Lake View.
Another One is just on the right hand side as you enter the mall road. I got a nice room for just 1000 bucks in November. (will try to recall the name)
A lot agents will come to you..dont panic..just go n see if its on the edge of the mall road.

Hi Delhiwala,
hey... is 200 bucks OK for getting a private car??..strange..!!!!..thanks buddy.
well..so accordingly yours , i should go to kathgodam from Lalkuan through any transport and then take a private car from there for Nainital.
One issue, which i am thinking is that can i get on-spot accommodation in either of hotel Pratap regency or Hotel Alka???..an utter of bargain can be done???

Thanks for such a generous reply
I need to explore Nainital plus one more place in my 4N/5D trip, with a high level of peace, relax and comfort. To be frank, i don't want to spoil the charm of being together by simply messing around the crowded places, covering as much places as i can or whatever.Regrading that, can you suggest me some places around Nainital to stay ( for 2 days)??
I have heard that Pangot & Mukteshwar are nice for newly wedded couple. Can u suggest me to choose either one..or do u have any better options???

These are share-taxis, 50 a seat (unless it's gone up). And although mostly small cars, they calculate with 5 seats, so hiring the whole car will cost Rs. 250.You have to go to Haldwani, not Kathgodam. Bhotia Parav stand, near the Degree college.
You can do Pangot as a day trip from Nainital. Mukteshwar too if you like. In that case it's best to hire a car for a day.
Hare Krishna...
Thanks a lot my friend...it sounds better for me
so probably..if I visit to mukteshwar, can u suggest some hotels there with approx rent???
If i plan to visit Jim Corbett after 2 days stay at Nainital, how should i go..any private cab..approx fair, distance??..
also, I heard about any permit there..is it so???..so how can one get that permit??..please explore it in detail....
n do we come directly to Kathgodam while returning, without touching the Nainital again??
thanks buddy for being so nice.....

At Mukteshwar, KMVN's location is outstanding and their tariffs are certainly reaasonable. Take a look at their site kmvn.gov.in
Pangot only has two birding camps. I really don't know if it's worth it being so close to Nainital, unless you're seriously into bird-watching. Anyway, here are the websites:
