Trains for Nainital/How far is nainital from rudrapur
I plan to visit nainital from delhi this weekend. My 1st preference was to go to kathgodam by over night ranikhet exp and then take a cab to Nainital. But it seems that all trains to kathgodam are fully booked.
But there is also a train to Laalkuan/rudrapur. So I was wondering if it is possible to reach rudrapur/lalkuan via train and then take a cab to naini. Is it a good alternative? How far is naini from laal kuan/rudrapur? Are cabs easily available?

From Rudrapur it's 60 KMs. You may hire taxies from the Rudrapur city. Or may search on internet for prebooking.
Alternatively, you may take bus also...
