Road/Traffic Conditions in Uttarakhand

This temple is in a calm and quiet place in Animath surrounded by some families of local residents in a homely environment just besides the national highway.

The temple and its surrounded area includes gardens with plenty of flowers and one family (managed by Kedarnath & Badrinath temple committee) who actually maintains the temple and daily worship.

We spent quite some time there as we liked that place and the local residents...

I captured that snap (of the snake in the ghat) from the balcony of "Mishra Bhawan" (one of the guest houses in Haridwar) while others in our team was in a discussion for our accommodation in that guest house. I think it was a harmless water-snake, mostly found in ponds, rivers in India.

Those two pictures of Haridwar's plains and river basin with Himalayan ranges had been captured from the top of Manasa hill and the Chandi hill, where Manasa and Chandi temples are situated respectively.

Your Picture solves one of riddle as discussed in this thread on IndiaMike.I think though Haze is there, but Snow clad Kalanag peak is quite visible in one of your picture.If it is snow clad peak it solves the riddle.

Actually in bengali, we pronounce "Mansa" (in Hindi) as "Manasa".

Hey can anyone, someone, everyone tell me what are the entry fees for the dodital trek that we have to pay at Bebra gate. In some photograph I saw a board stuck there which had ENTRY FEE painted on it. As the photo did not have more pixels nothing was clear to understand.

And would like to know if there are any other hidden charges just like this.

Need to know as 13 Nov is coming closer.

Finished char dham with tungnath successfully.....not a single hitch during the tour !!! It was a very smooth trip for us....But yes road conditions are not bad but terrible.Only God knows how we did it !!! Lot of travellers were stuck in rudraprayag as that national highway was closed for sometime..Luckily we knew it before and took an alternative route...the best part was ...found clear weather during our entire trip and found lots of snow in kedarnath and tungnath. So it was awesome but it was really inhospitable regarding the cold climate out there. Kedarnath was somewhat -4 c after midnight. OMG !!! But tht was some experience for us ! Had lot of cold burns and its really hurting...but overall ...the best trip of my life !!!
