Road/Traffic Conditions in Uttarakhand

Im also searching for the recent one. But i think there wont be much difference in 2007 and 2010 ??? It would be cold but the amount of snow in the picture is making me a little bit baffled. Wonder wht will be the temperature then and now ??
Im visiting char dham with chopta starting october 18th. I know it would be cold but dont have any experience of the weather over there ?? any suggestions will be helpfull for me !!

What is the distance from Gaurikund to chopta and Chopta to Joshimath ?

I was at Chopta(and then to Tunganath) on 27th December,2009. There was no snow at Chopta and only few white patches at Tunganath.But it does not imply that it will be the same this year.

Gaurikund to Chopta(via Kund,Ukhimath) wll be about 80 km.
Chopta to Joshimath around 90 km.

ok. actually we are 2 ppl, we are starting from kol on 13th Oct. Still now we haven't decided anything about the car....after reaching there we'll decide..thnx 4 ur reply...

So wht was the temperature then ?? any idea ?

Probably around 14-16°C in the Sun and a couple of degrees less in the shade.

That will be the maximum temperature.. Nights will be chilling cold!!

Any one knows is there snow fall on any of place
i.e. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri or Yamnotri and Auli

there is NO Snowfall at any of the places as asked by you... even the snow beyond these places have melted. today one group coming from Tapovan called me from Gangotri and said that weather is very clear all over and there was no snow even at Tapovan BUT it was very chilly...

Leaving for chopta- tungnath - chandrashila-deoria tal trip tom.. heard there is a small section of landslide between srinagar and rudraprayag.. anyone who is updated on it.. or anyone who has covered this route last week ?

so who all are likely to bump into me during this time.. i guess many people are heading to hills since the weather has been beautiful for 2 weeks now..

Is it expected snow fall at end of oct I am there on 27th oct to 5th nov.

I hope i can see some snow fall.

snow can only be expected above 4000 mtrs around Oct end...

Snowfall montha ahead of Schedule.

But kedarnath has seen snowfall from mid october in past years !!!
