Rishikesh and places around

Hi All IM'ers ,
Have a short lived holiay for a few days to Uttaranchal, heading to Rishikesh for a few days , the main idea is to experince the rapids of the mother Ganga and be chill in the holy land of the gods for a few days.

Looking for a quite nice cottage away from the hush bush busy life and people , where the views are stunning .

Wanted some info on White water rafting and the best prices and options one could look @ and experince bliss.Heard Shivpuri is the best place for a one to try 3rd degree rapids..Any help and info of the same would be of great help.

To add would like to have some info of the places around Rishikesh, places which could be visited in a day around the radius of 200 - 300 km.

i think it will be better for you to enjoy at camp side at shivpuri and next day enjoy rafting...
please let us know your tentetive dates of travel.
around rishikesh so much places to see.
you may go to kunjapuri temple 30-35km from rishikesh and you may go to masoorie.
also you can go to kaudiyala its a next stop from shivpuri.

Kunjapuri Temple
Chandrabadani Temple
Devprayag

If you wish to do white water rafting, do from Kaudiyala, the place has wooden huts at Ganga banks. Nice place....

There are many places at 200-300 Kms distance, but none can be done in a day.

Now please help me with best stay options @ Rishikesh...i am not keep to stay on with the river cottages as it stuff and hard on my pocket.. I am a lone backpacker travelling in budject style.

looking for some decent accomdation with nice views from your cottage or guest house for a 2-3 day stay.

My main idea @ Rishikesh is to try the White Rafting 3rd degree rapids , looking for the best deal on the same.Pls share some contact details if possible.

Wondering if the river side cottage guys will let me raft along with them in spite of not staying @ their cottage
