just to share this small point
the badri idol is not shifted, but only the kuber idol is brought to yog badri
and the lakshmi idol which is kept outside the main temple {on the left if we face the temple} is brought inside in place of kuber

What I've seen at the Narsingha Badri Temple at Joshimath in winter was that the 'Gaddi' or a cushion along with a metal idol was brought from the Badri Visal. This is the winter abode of Badri Visal.

oh yes lot of confusing info on this topic
even the official web site of the temple says
"Garhwal Himalayas, which is prone to heavy snowfall. As a result, all the passage leading to the shrines are blocked. Moreover, during the monsoon season, there is undue threat of having landslides, which can further disrupt the journey. For safety reasons, the gates of the temples are also closed for this period of time and the idols are shifted to nearby pilgrim points."
the info that the main idol is not shifted ,i got from the temple staff
dhru, the gaddi at the narsingha temple is of adi shankaraya
and for kedarnath only the small idols which are kept with the chief priest {in the room he meets visitors} are brought down to ukimath

What I believe is that gods should be left at original place so that they can get some rest after such a hectic schedule of fulfilling people’s wishes...some of whom btw, will anyway be going to hell!
Sometimes, the joy that the Daybreak brings, is unparalleled!

oh yes the wrist is shown to all who attend the morning abhishek
last time i stayed in the badri kedar rest house which is in the temple complex
view of the temple from the room
at night when there was pin drop silence i used to go and sit in the temple compound
i can not express the peace and vibrations i felt
