a late post, but thanks all for your help and replies for my previous post on trip to auli
we got a good amount of snow!..

AULI is looking like Switzerland , I have been to Badrinath, but could not visit Auli, Was it very cold in March ? can I get a hotel at Auli easily at cheaper rates or we have to stay at Joshimath ?

yea it was cold, we got heavy snow up in auli. well, we stayed at Gmvn joshimath, and did a small but beautiful trek to auli. on the way we found our first snow (pic #1). hmm.. i think u will be getting rooms at 3500k(clifftop in march) while we payed 700k in joshimath!


Yea, this time we were lucky to get this much amount of snow!!

Excellent pics

Reaching clifftop in late evening, we could not return to joshimath or even to other hotels in Auli, we paid 5k (they demanded 7.5k) per night last November which is actually non season. If someone plans to clifftop, it is better to check their prices in advance becos it is remote and changing plan will be difficult. We could not turn back even with our innova becos it was dark and no tar road (a very rugged and bumpy road on the hills)

Wow great clicks...I had been to Auli recently last week only. Couldn't see the peaks it was cloudy and raining too, but the view is breathtaking fro top..
