Hello,
I am planning to go PCBC trek in October, 2016 with my six years old son. Recently he successfully has completed Sandakphu Trek. Do I get permission from SDM for my son?
Any contact person to arrange porter?
I could not get any link to book KMVN rest houses in the Trek Route. Is spot booking available ?

With best wishes,
Krishnapriya

PCBC trek goes through Darma valley. It's different from Sandakphu in terms of remoteness and infrastructural support.
Having said that if your son is healthy and has a liking for walking, he can do this moderate level trek with sufficient rest on the way.

On the route there are trek huts with caretakers. You should get the accommodation. Otherwise there are village homes and basic hotels which also serve as lodges. I prefer neat and clean home stays than grubby hotels.
In mid October this route should be open and you won't have problem in finding accommodation on the way. And porter / guide should be available from Dharchula itself.

Thank you Rajkumar. Do we have to obtain permission and medical fitness certificate?

Permission is to be obtained from the SDM's office. And as for fitness certificate, sometimes the insist you take it from a doctor in the primary health center/ hospital just behind the SDM's office in Dharchula. Better you carry one from your doctor also.
