Wonderful pics. Out of this world.
Sure one of your photos could be Photo of the Month. Ronak.

Himalaya under threat
Quote:
Now the question is - What are we going to do about this? Should we be silent spectators to this largely human made tragedy? How each one one of us will bring about a change? Please think about it. |

yeah, but i always wonder ... how to stop this change?? i always try, from my side, to use minimum plastic bags (in fact, zero level of plastics)....maximum walking around ,etc.. but is there anything concrete that we folks can do???

Darma valley in winter
Almoraboy,
If you want to see how the snow bound Darma valley looks like, see the photos in the album, I found on the net: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pi...?id=2125186430 It's always better to go there in late winter ie April or early May, rather than at the time of onset. You will have a chance to get out, if you wait long enough. |

Here is a painting of Niti, the last village in Dhauliganga(W), done 1812 by a British painter Hearsey, Hyder Young (1782-1840). When I visted Niti in 2005, to my utter surprise, I found the village not much changed since then- for almost 200 years. Click on:
http://www.imagesonline.bl.uk/britis...height=2&idx=2 On my visit, the cameras are prohibited in this "Inner line" region. But mountaneering teams that go via Niti to climb Kamet have clicked photos and kept them on the web. |
