Hi Paleface

Sorry for the delayed response.

I got the quote from Char Machan Tourism Pvt Ltd 9555223829. However, I am mulling over few other options as I wanted to fix within 43-45k which suits to our budget.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards, Samir

They are in Delhi, well the head office through whom you are booking presumably. Still I am not saying it is outrageous, but if you want a second opinion, please say so herein.

Hello hisamir,

I am also going for a solo tapovan trek around the same time. I will reach Uttarkashi on 29th September, collect permit and move to Gangotri on the same day if possible or on the next day morning. I will start trekking on 1st October.

Are you guys done with th permit part? If yes, what are the steps to follow?
Are you guys carrying sleeping bags and tents or hiring the same?
Are you guys planning to stay for just one night at Tapovan or multiple nights?

Waiting for your reply!

Thanks and Regards,

sudwantstotread

Hello hisamir,

I will go solo as I always do....would love to join your team if everything seems right. I am little skeptical about the permit part for Tapovan ...how much you guys will pay in total?

You can inbox me your contact number and name , i will definitely call you back!

If you have not bought your rook-sack yet you can refer to the shop in Gokul Boral street near Hind Cinema hall. Mobile number: 9830392103.
You can get all trek related materials here at a reasonable price.

Hi Nilanjan

I thought of purchasing the following from Decathlon Uluberia on 15th Sep.

Foreclaz 50 backpack
Foreclaz 600 trekking shoe
Quechua forclaz 500 trek pole

Its really a great to know about Hind cinema as its very close to my office and Uluberia is 2 hours journey from my area.

Again thanks a lot for the help. Let me visit and will update here for others help as well.

Regards, Samir

This treking pole "Quechua forclaz 500 trek pole" seems to be heavier than my Kabuda anti-shock pole.
Just check for alternatives- a strong built, steady, "LIGHTWEIGHT" trekking pole with TC tipped end.
I guess the rucksacks and shoes are available online, no need to visit the Uluberia store unless you want to compare/choose among various models.

My suggestion would be buy the Forclaz 600 shoe and pole from Decathlon, Uluberia and buy the rest like rook-sack, etc from the shop I mentioned earlier.
Just a piece of advice Decathlon store has huge variety of materials which would be very tempting for anyone who visits. You might end up buying too many things from there. I have done this twice.
