They are all located on the Mall Road.
However, there are a few good dhabas at the far end near the Tibetan market area.

Neither. to put it bluntly get your ticket cancelled. what's the point of going to any himalayn location when possiblity of seeing snow laden peaks is so less. go to panchmarhi or mount abu instead... Any non-himalayn hill stations are at their best when it rains or is raining.. enjoy cloud patterns and mist on the way... whereas on Himalayan hill stations/locations, beauty of snow covered massive peaks gets obscured by these very clouds... that's the way I see it. just think for yourself why rainy season becomes off-season in nainiatl, which isnt impacted by landslide to that extent..... let me give you an example, suppose you visit. china peak in nainital. what will you do when you reach there... there wont be any peaks to see.... I mean possiblity is very less.

Dear friend,
It will be raining in most of the destinations in the hills during this period, but the hills takes on a different look altogether during the monsoons, which is a delight in itself, so go ahead with your journey. As regards these two destinations, Nanital would be definitely better as it has more places in its vicinity which you can explore by car - check out my blog -

Have a nice journey,

i dont think it's a right decision to be going to such places during monsoon... possibility of landslides is high and nothing substantial to gain...

I guess most of us are constrained by the limited availability of free time these days so we set out for holidays as and when we get time.

What ChandanParakash is saying has a strong logic behind it; however, if you still have to go then there is only one stretch near Kakrighat on Khairna-Almora route (if you are going that way) where landslide can block the road for longer duration. In such instances, traffic is diverted to other routes without any disruption.

There are other 2/3 landslide prone stretches but the debris is usually cleared within three to four hours, as it happens.

Local newpapers have not yet reported any rain-related traffic disruption. I would still suggest to contact the hotels/guest houses where you have made bookings, to enquire about the latest condition.

Thanks ,I know even my parents are also not happy with my tour,
but the beauty of mountains in monsoon is spell bounding, its worth to take the risk, even last year my whole family got stuck in nainitaal area in aug landslides and flood,we missed our train, but that was adventurous, that too with 2 kids. I am in love with mountains in rains.

Thats true,we should not waste any oppurtunity to holiday.
