Lightbulb Nainital Hotel with Lake View

Just going through the threads in a phased manner but not able to find suggestion on a good hotel in a quiet location with rooms having view of the lake.
Cost is not a major constraint . I am planning a trip in November end,all suggestions are welcome.
I was considering hotel Manu Maharani or Shervani Hilltop.Any comments?

Manu Maharani is on the lake edge.....Sherwvni is little away and has no lake view rooms but has excellent gardens, both are too pricey (for me )

I like hotel Alka, which has decent lake facing rooms....and is more central

Manu Maharani is nowhere near the lake edge...at least not in terms of waddling your feet in the waters other than in the bathroom tub.

Read the reviews. The views are fine but people seem to have a problem with the services.Any place where good service coupled with good views maybe combined?

I am also very fond of Alka hotel......although stayed there some 10 years back.
Another favorite of mine is Hotel Elphinstone. This one is near to Alka, nearer to the bus-stand, but has a great view of the lake and has an old-world charm.

As they say Impossible is nothing .. but not advisable. To enjoy Corbett best is to stay at Dhikala in the park and take atleast 3 park rides, two in the early morning and one evening and yes also a combination of Jeep and Elephant rides

Shervani has no lake views and far off from lake/mall road. Though the views are really beautiful and the place is very well laid out.

Manu maharani has some sort of distant lake view.

Alka is one of the up market hotels bang on mall road. On heritage side, I guess palace belvedere has some lake view rooms. But from what I've heard there might be other issues with the hotel.

You can do 2 rides a day, 3 will be too tiring and almost imposs. There is an early morning ride, one around noon and one ion the eve. Best places to stay is at Dhikala Guesthouse - not fancy but right inside the forest

I've been to nainital a lot of times and prefer alka from the list.

Manu mahrani is the best hotel but it is situated on the top of a hill(far from the town)alka is situated in the middle of town thus making it very continent and is the best in terms of rooms and food.
