Massive Flooding in Uttarakhand, June 2013

As some of you are already aware, there has been heavy flooding and rain damage in various parts of Uttarakhand since yesterday. Some posts on road conditions are here:
Road/Traffic Conditions in Uttarakhand

According to news reports -

18000+ people are stranded on the Gangotri route. Supplies have run short. The district admin is trying to cope, but it's quite obvious that they are unable to manage. The DM was on TV saying that 5000 people have been accommodated in camps, that is clearly not enough. He also mentioned that they were trying to arrange evacuation by air, but upto now the weather hasn't been good enough.
At Joshiyara near Uttarkashi, entire buildings including some hotels have collapsed into the river.

10000+ people are stranded at Badrinath. 6000+ are stranded at Ghanghariya. Part of the parking area at Govindghat is washed away.

Part of the GMVN property at Birahi is washed away.

4500+ people are stranded at Kedarnath as the path has washed away at some point.
Rambara police post also washed away.

It would be a good idea for anyone planning on Char Dham yatra to delay their trips by a few days, even a week.

Ajay - hope you and your family are ok. Take care, man.

P.S. Mods - please change the title to 'Massive floods in Uttarakhand'. I don't want to start a new thread.
