Lesser known tourist destinations in Uttarkhand

Can someone help me with the lesser-known tourist destinations in both Garhwal as well as Kumaon Uttarkhand? I'd appreciate to know the reasons for such recommendations as also the road-route to the place, family-hotels (budget accommodation) in the whereabouts and such other information which would be beneficial.
Please do not recommend popular places like Mussoorie,Nainital, Ranikhet,Lansdowne,Corbett,Har idwar,Rishikesh etc.

Wow! I guess you realise that people who have replied to your post are not obliged to do so, and this attitude will not help you in any way.

Yes, I do realize that......its optional for sure. But I'd still insist that the replies aren't vague, not because I'm new to this place, rather because of the fact that I'm tooo interested in their replies.

Thanks WeareTourists.
Now,how far from Chaukori is Jhaltola? And is it on the way to Thal i.e., before or after Udiyari?

And btw, has anybody got any idea about Bajpur in Udham Singh Nagar district or about Pangot near Nainital. How are these places as tourist spots? Are they worth a try or not for their proximity to Delhi?

Jageshwar is a beautiful place and about 45 kilometers from Almora, quiet and peaceful and beautiful walks to see Nanda Devi. A budget guesthouse is Tara Guesthouse at about 400 Roupee's a night.

HL - refer to this map for travelling around Uttarakhand:
http://www.shubhyatratravels.com/map-uttarakhand

And I was going to suggest Chakrata (only if you're an Indian citizen), but I can't be bothered to provide reasons.

(Ok, it's small. And quiet. Views when it's clear).

Bazpur can be considered a tourist place in the same way that Haldwani can be considered a tourist place.
Pangot's good, specially if you like birdwatching.

Abbott Mount is located near Lohaghat as stated. KMOU Ltd. & Uttarakhamd Roadways operates one buses each from Hadwani. From nainital you could either book a cab for Abbott Mount or Catch the Bus at Khutani bend (mid point between Bhimtal & Bhowali).

The route from Nainital is as follows:
nainital - Bhowali - Khutani Bend - Dhanachuli - Sheharphatak - Devidhura - Lohaghat - Abbott Mount. (Total Distance approx. 152 from Nainital)

Located at around 2150 mts on the eastern belt of Kumaon region. A serene & good place to relax & for short walk amidst Pine & deodar forest. One could also have a good view of Himalayas.

Dear friend,
If you are a nature lover, you can visit Khirsu. It can be accessed both from the Lansdowne side as well as through Dev prayag side and is placed at an distance of about 300 odd Kms. from Delhi and is a full days drive. You can get good and reasonable accommodation at GMVN run guest house and can get an advance booking for the place. To know more about to the destination -
