Hi Decamped-
I've spent some summer months in Rishikesh, lower than Landour. Not many mosquitos at all. But, regarding disease prevention, I ask my doc here for advice and get meds here. I suggest ask your regular doc in the states, check out the cdc warnings and make your own call based on those findings. |

Landour
Hey Diplomacy,
About contacting the school, they don't reply to email. I got through only when I called, so I would suggest just calling. Good luck |

Great!
They do reply to email - at least to me. I also received a reply from them yesterday (my second reply from them, wehey). What I really need is a reply (= decision) from my employer, though.

I'm interested in studying at Landour in July, but they're very busy and can offer only part-time lessons (2/day).
Does any of you know a good independant teacher in Mussoorie? |

Private hindi tutoring in Mussoorie
Sandrine- There are a few girls, who are not trained teachers, giving private Hindi tutoring in Mussoorie. Many students meet with them for private tutoring in addition to the classes at the language school. They usually come to the guesthouses to find new students, and you can always ask around at Char Dukan if anyone in any of the shops have the name and contact info to some girl giving private classes.

But, once again waiting for their reply. I really hope they will be able to offer me full-time. Otherwise I could forget about going as my government would never approve part-time studies

Great, diplomacy!
I also received a tentative YES from my employer! ![]() I don't dare to allow myself to sing and dance on my desk yet but I'm encouraged... to plan, to arrange, to hope for the best. |

I'm curious about accommodation as I've got three alternatives; DevDar Woods, Rokeby and Woodside.
Which one is the best alternative? |

Opinions vary and circumstances change - the impression that I've got browsing through threads that touch on accommodation in Landour. See opinions in, for example,
Landour Language School, Mussoorie, Mussoorie hotels and Mussoorie Hotels I'm wondering whether Ivy Bank, Rokeby, Dev Dar Woods, other all have single rooms? For a longer stay, I'd prefer a room of my own even though it costs more. diplomacy, I'm planning to be there from mid-September to mid-December. |

I'm staying at DevDar, and requested a single room.
I'll be there in May and will post then about the room. It's hard to get opinions from people on the internet, as once I took some advice only to end up in a really gross place. Good luck! |
