Hi all
Can anybody help me by suggesting. This year I have planned a tour to parts of Kumaon with my family and friends. We will be 6 adults and 1 kid. We will start from Kolkata on 19th Dec via Bag Express. Our itinerary goes as follows. We are taking a cab from Kathgodam to Kathgodam for the entire tour. 21st Dec. Reach Kathgodam at abt 9.30am and proceed to Kausani. Night stay at Kausani. 22nd Dec. Kausani. 23nd Dec. Proceed to Binsar. N.S. at Binsar. 24rd Dec. Proceed to Chilianaula via Ranikhet. N.S. at Chilianaula. 25th Dec. Arrive at Nainital. 26th Dec. At Nainital(Local sight seeing) 27th Dec. Visit to Sat Tal, Naukuchia Tal, Bhimtal... back to Kathgodam station to entrain. Is the above plan right? Last year I had been to Lohaghat, Pithoragarh, Chakouri, Munsyari route so need not go there again. Will some of my tour-loving friends here please comment on my plan. Which more places may I cover within this schedule? I want to know in more details regarding the short local tours/treks which I can avail while in this tour. I will be highly obliged. I have booked KMVN at Kausani and Binsar and GMVN at Chilianaula. Do I need to book for Nainital also? Keeping in mind that I am reaching Nainital on the Christmas day will it be too risky without a booking? |

Pangot is 15 kmts from nainital on kilbury road. It is famous amoungst the bird watchers... over 200 species found there. Enroute you get to see magnificient Himalaya Darshan from kilbury just 3 kmts before Pangot. Pangot is a small kumaoun village with the max. density of approx 20 families. U can enjoy walking thru the road / mountain trails in midst of thick oak forest, plenty of water springs and caves can be explored in that area . Since I donot like crowded place ... Pangot is in my fav.list
